One of the most common problems faced by people wishing to start a business is exactly this—wishing. The term I like to use for a person with this challenge is “wantrepreneur,” which UrbanDictionary defines as “someone who thinks about being an entrepreneur or starting a business but never gets started.”[42]

Wantrepreneurs either don’t start businesses at all or pretend they’re entrepreneurs by running little money-making ventures that are doomed to fail, often built in accordance with bad advice from “make money online” gurus.

We’ve already discussed that commitment is one of the most important things you need to achieve success in business. In addition to that (and other traits and habits we’ve discussed so far), here are five more reasons why people are wantrepreneurs—and how to overcome them.
